Hello everyone......We are having the most amazing time here in Greece. We both arrived feeling jet lagged and suffering a hideous cold which of course we shared with each other, the story so far.... After a few days in Athens we went to Crete then to Santorini which was stunning! We are now on a quiet little island called Poros (for a week) which is where the Greeks holiday. We made friends with a lady her daughter and mother on the ferry and after discussion on how we will try to return next year, she generously offered her home in the Peloponnese to us (with car) and said to bring our friends and family (it is a very large old renovated home with four large bedrooms) which we will have to ourselves as she, her husband & daughter live in Brussels. They have also invited us to come be there guests in Brussels during the winter which she added is the most boring city in Europe but its proximity to other countries as well as being of medieval interest is worth a visit. Wow! We could not believe her kindness to which she then quoted Tennessee Williams through his character of Blanch in Street Car named Desire ...True kindness is often found in the company of complete strangers . It will be Ians 62nd birthday on Friday and we feel not only blessed by our trip here to Greece and the new friendships made but are also reminded how lucky we are to have beautiful, loving and very supportive friends and work colleagues who have helped to make this life style possible for us with love from LouIan Greece x P.s pics will come when we can get it together to post but having too much fun to spend time on internet (am sure youll understand).
