Hello fellow smiths, Looking through YouTube, forums and the Blacksmithing pages on Facebook, it becomes clear we know how to apply our techniques. But the demonstration and info. about the very fundamentals of forging is not to be found. There is hardly any info. about the basics of drawing out, bending, punching, etc. the allround idea of these techniques we all apply. Therefor I want to make a video series covering the fundamentals of forging, as simple as: drawing a point, various ways of drawing out, upsetting, welding, punching etc. So, beginners or people who want to learn about blacksmithing can get a better idea. It will give them something easy and visual to refer to, Now, before anything, Id like to know what you smiths would consider the fundamentals of forging, because that seems to differ with some smiths. I am not going to discuss different forges and anvils as that is so personal and dependent of your location. Any idea, suggestions, pointers and criticism to produce this would be greatly appreciated.
