Here is The Who performing My Generation (the lead track from their 1965 debut album) on September 15, 1967 on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. This is the Infamous performance in which the drummer, Keith Moon, had extra charges added into his bass drum for the explosion at the end without telling the rest of the band! The resulting explosion was too intense and led to Moon getting cut up from his drum kit while the guitarist Pete Townshends hearing suffered permanent damage! The song itself was named the 11th greatest song by Rolling Stone on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Its also part of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fames 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and is inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for historical, artistic and significant value.
