Here is a good and more serious example of what I last posted about. Here is a report by an Israeli human rights acitivist who says he was told by soldiers in Gaza that IDF soldiers were committing war crimes by targetting civilians as revenge. The story may be true but this activist is involved in BDS and other anti-Zionist and anti-Israel groups. From experience with them, they do not tend to fact check and believe any and all information IF (and only if) it is anti-Israel. It is like religious beliefs. So I am in a difficult position. If this is even partially true, I want these soldiers to be jailed for murder. I want everyone to speak out against any killing of innocent human beings. If it is not true, I am spreading false information and contributing to the fueling of the conflict. I have no answers to this problem. I know that people invested in this conflict on both sides (Fb posters, politicians, leaders, human rights activists) have an interest in proving their version of truth as being black and white- we are right, they are wrong. None of them have the goal of truth regardless who is right and wrong. From what I have experienced in Israel and the West Bank, none of it is black and white and everyone shares some responsibility for what happens. So I am confused.
