Heres a rare recording that was salvaged by my friend Marion Kyzer, who played steel guitar with the WIS Hired Hands from 1948-1950. Kyzer kept a couple old acetate transcription discs of their 1949 radio shows, and he gave me the old reel-to-reel tapes he made of the discs before he discarded the old discs after they deteriorated in the late 1950s. This features Homer Pappy Sherrill on fiddle, Tommy Faile on guitar and lead vocals, DeWitt Snuffy Jenkins on banjo, Ira Dimmery on bass and tenor vocals, and Marion Kyzer on steel and baritone vocals.
