Heres a scary fact for you. The island Tuvalu located northeast of Australia and lies four and a half metres above sea level. The people of Tuvalu are facing rising sea levels which will potentially see the island underwater in around 45 years. Global warming due to greenhouse gases especially from Australia who was one of the greatest emmiters has refused to help this island. In the early 2000s Minister of immigration Phillip Ruddock refused to offer help in the matter, saying that to accept environmentally displaced refugees would be discriminatory. New Zealand and neighbouring islands have entended their hands in a small way to help. In 2006 John Howard denied attending a meeting to discuss the crisis. I tell you what I think, our government has been run by a bunch of blame shifting uncompassionate pigs. So what do you think? This is only the beggining of what is to come.
