Heres a step by step show explanation so you can get the most out of your show viewings. I attached the run through from this past weekend. Keep in mind that some critical parts of the show have not been added yet (uniforms, voice overs, lights). Those will help everything tie together. Our first show with all of that stuff will be the Hudsonville community performance on Feb 28th. Genesis 2015: Pandoras Box Part 1 The entire group starts opposite of the box and stage to draw attention to it and help build suspense as we move towards it. The box itself is very intricate and intriguing. We (Pandora) have a great curiosity about what is in the box, even though we know we are not supposed to open it. The box is opened and all of the evils of the world are released from this box. We are personifying these evils and negative emotions by the aggressive nature of the music and movement, as well as with the use of 4 people who exit the box. Part 2 Part 1 ends with these demon people leaving the box area in an attempt to spread their evils to everyone. Each section plays a feature and immediately after is when the demons interact with that section. The emotions we are portraying are depression, hopelessness, and misery. There are 2 snare players that manage to escape the demons. One continues to play with each section and moves to the back left corner, while the other moves to the right corner. The one near the box is looking for some way to get rid of the demons and return back to the world they had before. He reaches into the box and finds hope which we are personifying with a ball of light. Part 3 The ball of light (hope) is passed around the entire ensemble. The cymbals are the first to enter with the uniforms changed to gold. After a short happy intro, the entire ensemble enters with the gold uniforms. At the end of a battery feature, the full ensemble will turn on lights on their drums, bodies or keyboards. This is our way of connecting with the ball of light and having enough hope to know we can defeat the demons. The tempo gets faster and the movements get crazier as we gain strength. The demons re-enter to try to rid us of our hope, but we surround them and are too strong. The ball of light is tossed back to the box and the box is closed, defeating the demons for good.
