Heres the truly sad thing about this. Sarkeesian was prepared to go forward in spite of the explicit threat, provided that steps were taken to ensure her security. What actually prevented her from speaking was not the threat itself, but Utahs imbecilic concealed carry laws, which allow anyone to carry a concealed weapon. When someone says, I will kill you with a gun, and the institution is not permitted to say, no guns allowed, then the law is effectively enabling the one making the threats. (And dont even think of trying to claim that everyone in the audience would suddenly produce a gun and protect her. The criminal would get off the first shot regardless.) [I have a very short fuse right now. Any apologists for this terrorism will disappear from my Facebook wall and not come back.]
