Heres what I know: Sometimes you have to take a step backward to move ahead. Sometimes what may appear to be a step backward is just the opposite. But sometimes it takes a while to figure that out. I am now on the verge of moving to a new city and state and taking on a different role with my current company. I will be in a warmer climate 24/7, with the enviable commute of 3,000 yards door to door, responsible solely for myself - no direct reports. ( I will miss leading a team in general and my wonderful team especially who I am leaving in great hands btw...) To be sure I had to figure out what is success at any given moment , my personal joie de vivre - what makes me happy and what I was willing to do to get where I needed to be. I cant say my journey has been or will be easy. I know there will be many changes to get used to-many things different and new. I welcome them all. There will be NO Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda, when I leave the mortal coil because I will have done what I wanted to and on my own terms. There have been huge sacrifices made but they pale in comparison to the idea of starting over in a way. With the support and help of my family, friends and employer - here I am and there I go!
