Heute um 20 Uhr im HAU2 bei Phantasma und Politik #7 – Truth Is Concrete auf dem Podium: Florian Malzacher, Jonas Staal, Alanna Lockward und Moderator Helmut Draxler. (In English language) Florian Malzacher is an independent dramaturge, curator and writer, and since 2012 artistic director of the Impulse Theater Biennale in Cologne, Düsseldorf & Mülheim/Ruhr. After graduating from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at the University of Giessen, he has been working since 2005 primarily as an independent journalist for newspapers and trade journals. His publications encompass books about the theatre artists Forced Entertainment and Rimini Protokoll, as well as on curating the performative arts. As an independent dramaturge Malzacher has worked with artists such as Rimini Protokoll, Lola Arias, Mariano Pensotti and Nature Theater of Oklahoma. Jonas Staal studied art in Enschede (NL) and Boston (USA). He is currently working on his PhD entitled “Art and Propaganda in the 21st Century” at the University of Leiden (NL). He is the founder of the artistic and political organisation “New World Summit” (NWS) and the “New World Academy”. His works span interventions in public space, exhibitions, lectures and publications with a focus on the relationship between art, politics and ideology. His most recent book, “Art, Property of Politics III: Closed Architecture”, appeared in 2011. His artistic projects include “Trickster’s Trickers” (2010), “Freethinkers’ Space Continued” (2012), “Vote Back!” (2012) and “New World Academy” (2013), which he has presented at the Moscow Biennale, the Berlin Biennale and the Kochi-Muzuris Biennale. Alanna Lockward (DO/DE) is a curator and writer. She is founding director of Art Labour Archives, a decolonial platform for thinking, sensing, and doing that facilitates situation specific transdisciplinary events. She graduated from UAM-Xochimilco, Mexico City, in communication studies and received her M.A. in Art in Context at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Lockward is currently writing a dissertation on the oral history of the AME (African Methodist Episcopal Church) in the Caribbean and Namibia at Humboldt University in Berlin.
