Hi Everyone, Regular readers would know by now that I get a bit excited when the weather turns- Yesterday was absolutely FABBO and after getting so many loads of washing line dried in a bit of sunshine, I now feel like I will definitely get warm again. The cherubs and I took a little excursion out to The Rocks yesterday and according to facebook, we weren’t the only ones. It’s a great place for a quick time out, just listening to the frogs and birds. I even got the cherubs to be still for a moment and just listen. The Wakefield Regional council, NRM Board and a group of volunteers* have worked hard over the past year with new plantings and measures to maintain the environment as it is. It’s worth checking out again while the water is still up a bit from the recent rains. The specials this week are- • Loose white potatoes- $1.99 cents per kilo • Granny Smith Apples- $3.48 per kilo • Loose Red Onions- $1.69 per kilo • Whole Celery Bunch- $1.99 each • Packham Pears- $2.48 per kilo • Strawberries –$2.69 each OR 2 FOR $4.59 And in the Nutritional Harmony lines: • Pitted Iranian Dates, 1kg bag- $4.99 • Pure Harvest Organic Rice Cakes, 150g- $2.49 FYI: * This information is from Holly Cowan, the Community Development Officer at Wakefield Regional Council. If you’re interested in volunteering, Holly should be able to guide you in the right direction. Did you know we: Moved most of our bagged products to be near the fruit and veg. The items such as dried fruit, nuts and cereals are now part of the Nutritional Harmony range being food basics, with the bagged No Added Sugar Yoghurt almonds, fruit and nut cluster and NAS Chocolate fruit and nut cluster there as a better choice for a treat option. It is so easy to put in an order and have your fruit and veg delivered! A Price list and order forms are attached to our email. You can use this to place an order by phone or fax or email, for pick up or delivery- however we can help you! Delivery for retail customers is available to your home or workplace- Balaklava on any shop day, Owen on Thursdays and then Port Wakefield is available on Mondays and Fridays, Lochiel on Friday. If you would like delivery in the surrounding areas let us know and we will see if we can swing by when in the area! Facebookers can use a word document if you like. You can fax, phone, email or drop off an order but if you do email, please give us a quick call if it is needed on the same day and you haven’t received a confirmation email so we know to go online. The night before you want an order is usually fine though.
