Hi Friends and Family: Mom and I went to see Grandpa this morning - TopicsExpress

Hi Friends and Family: Mom and I went to see Grandpa this morning after seeing him on Thursday Evening. Grandpa was not doing well his breathing was rapid his pulse was rapid and Jessica the WestHaven Senior Living Orland Med Tech believed he was in pain and was also in some distress from the anxiety of being in pain so she called Enloe Hospice to get permission to give Grandpa a pain med to help get him out of distress. Jessica also asked for the Hospice nurse to come by and see Grandpa since she was going to be in Orland, Glenn County around Noon for another Hospice patient. I decided to take Mom home and come back later at about 1:30pm to see Grandpa again and see what the Hospice Nurse thought about Grandpas condition. When I got back to WestHaven Jessica had said that when the normal Sunday Service Choir came over to their building she had them sing some hymns for grandpa and pray with him. Tricia the Hospice nurse believes we are now waiting in HRS for Grandpa to move from this life to his heavenly life. She gave a rough number of 24hrs based on grandpas physical condition. She lowered his oxygen because this can sometimes prolong a condition instead of allow a natural end to life. After cleaning Grandpa up and repositioning Grandpa Tricia and Jessica opened grandpas window to allow a nice afternoon breeze come through his room. With the humidifying Oxygen machine grandpas room was pretty stuffy. Grandpa was warm to the touch and he seemed to be relaxed with the nice northerly breeze coming in. I talked to Grandpa telling him we love him and will miss him but that it was OK for him to go home when he and God were ready. I have notified Duane Heter Grandpas Power of Attorney of his new expected time left. We will keep you all updated.
