Hi St Mungos pasted here are earlier comments from you and myself re: the Work Programme, which I am sending again, since Ive had no follow-up response yet. Conversation started March 6 Christian Garland 3/6, 7:08pm Hello St Mungos, It was very good to hear in 2012 that you had quit the Tory so-called Work Programme, so it came as a real shock to see you listed in the September 2013 DWP document, Work Programme Supply Chains under, 257 CPA4 A4e St Mungos Community Housing Ltd Voluntary Sector T2. It would be appreciated if you could throw some light on this anomaly: at this stage you certainly have the benefit of the doubt over this notorious workfare profiteer, which has erroneously listed other organisations who have either ended their involvement in workfare, or were never in fact participants, but it is alarming to say the least, that you could possibly have claimed to have left whilst remaining a supply chain partner - and very dishonest. As you are already aware, what is broadly termed workfare - of which the so-called Work Programme is the flagship example - has nothing whatsoever to do with helping anyone, but is about individualizing unemployment, making social problems, the problems of society, into individual moral failings. Duncan Smiths Victorian workhouse ideology of self-help and demonization of the poor gets a Twenty First Century gloss courtesy of the lucrative workfare industry, which is on hand to offer lots of can-do positive thinking twaddle about empowerment, and overcoming barriers to employment. However, it should be restated that there really is nothing less empowering than being made to accept an offer you cant refuse, or face sanction aka loss of your only income, just as the biggest barrier to employment remains what it always was: unemployment. Please look into this, and ask A4e why they have incorrectly listed you as one of their workfare supply chain partners - thanks.
