Hi all - a basic note on facebookitquette for this group. 1) Please be respectful of other peoples opinions. Were dealing with some comlex issues, and come from a very diverse set of background and viewpoints. That is wonderful! However, this can also lead to some inherent conflicts, which if discussed in a constructive manner, can really be swell. Please, refrain from attacking other people, their personal opinions/ideas. Especially when people take the time to really explore something, lets have that be okay, even if there might be problems. Take the time to point out and discuss, and try and persuade, rather than just put someone down, or treat people with a negative town. 2) Respect other peoples autonomy - We can have differences of opinion, and really where we should draw that line is does this affect other people outside of that person? if the answer is no, sometimes, its alright to not confront that issue. If you want to critique someone elses opinion, try and think of ways to do it positively, or that will reframe it in a different light. Lets focus on what brings us together, our shared values and principles, and respect the areas where we will disagree. 3) Lets foster a positive and inclusive environment - based on mutual respect. Everyone here is Cascadian, and we are all still learning. That desire to learn is what gives this movement beautiful strength - so lets treat other people like we would be treated, and learn and grow together.
