My name is Kathy Thompson and I am a doctoral candidate in the School of Business at Capella University. I am currently in the dissertation phase of the program and intend to complete a research study to describe the experiences of employees with dual sensory disabilities with their employer’s retention practices and the impact of those practices on their efforts to maintain employment. This is an opportunity for employees with dual sensory disabilities to share their experiences and help me to complete this study on an important topic for employees with dual sensory disabilities. I am currently recruiting participants for my study! Individuals who decide to participate will engage in three (3) dialogues with the researcher. The first and final dialogues will be completed by telephone, video or relay call and should not take more than 20 minutes. The second dialogue will be a face-to-face interview and will take approximately 60 - 90 minutes to complete. The following safeguards will be taken to protect the identity of all participants. · The information reported in this study will remain confidential and anonymous. Employers will not have access to the data. · In any published report, no information will be included that makes it possible to identify individuals or the organization in which they work. · Participation in this study is voluntary. If you are an individual with dual sensory disabilities, do you meet the study criteria listed below? · Currently employed, · Have some degree of hearing and vision loss (where the vision loss is more than just needing glasses), · Able to read documents using regular font, large font, braille, or by using screen reader software, · Able to communicate directly with researcher or through an interpreter, and · Have access to transportation.
