Hi, folks. I consider deleting posts or comments a last resort. - TopicsExpress

Hi, folks. I consider deleting posts or comments a last resort. When admitting new members to the group, I allow NJEA members and others who may not be NJEA members but who are part of the public education community in New Jersey---school employees from Newark, for example. Its difficult sometimes to identify someone as a member because many members dont use their actual names on Facebook. Thats particularly true for school employees. I do my best when admitting new members to make an educated guess as to whether such folks are NJEA members using a pseudonym. If any conversation takes a controversial turn, I make sure that folks are debating the issue and not engaging in personal attacks. For the most part, folks steer clear of such behavior. If someone turns out to clearly not be an NJEA persists in negative personal commentary, I remove him or her more easily than someone who is an NJEA member. I received several complaints about the turn a series of comments took on a recent post. Since I was reasonably certain that the content of the initial post had been viewed by most members---getting the intended message of the post shared---I deleted the post to take out the comments. If you have any questions, feel free to inbox me.
