Hike Palestine program for Saturday-March 29th-2014 is a new trail. Maqam Sheikh Shaleh tail is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Sabastia,it is going to be our next hike, beside that we are going to walk around the city walls, then late traditional Palestinian lunch. Sabastia city in a glance A historic and archaeological site in the Holy Land founded by Herod the Great in honor of Emperor Augustus in ancient Samaria. Still visible atop the ancient acropolis today are the remains of the old Roman city, which were partially excavated over the last century there. Sebastia is now a Palestinian village of over 3000 inhabitants, located in the Nablus Governorate of the West Bank some 12 kilometers northwest of the city of Nablus. Program details: Meeting time: 8:30 AM. Meeting place: Ramallah Municipality parking lot. Length of the hike: Around 7.5 km+3.5 the walk. Duration of the hike: Around 2.5 hours+1.5 the walk. Category: The hike is Moderate, and the walk is easy. Walking trails may change due to urgent circumstances or if requested. Fees: 200 NIS per person: the fees include guide fees, lunch, and transportation from and back to the meeting point. Requirements for the hike: Must have an idea about hiking, please wear good/comfortable non slippery hiking shoes (off road shoes), a hat, and sun block, and bring some fruits and/or energy snack bars, a light sandwich, and minimum2- 3 liters of water. It is highly recommended that you have a back-pack, and hiking poles. Please note that you are responsible for your own health, safety and belongings.
