***Hinkler Central Update - Sprinkler system causes minor damage at Hinkler Central*** Three stores at Hinkler Central have suffered minor water damage after a sprinkler system burst in the shopping centre today. The tenancies affected are Allphones, Wide Bay Australia, and Angus and Coote. Centre management is working to confirm that the water has not compromised the electrical circuits in each of the tenancies and expect at least two of the stores to reopen within the next day or two. Allphones Australia acting store manager, Sina Brennan, said they would not be able to reopen until the store computers were replaced but are expecting to open their doors either on Friday or early next week. The burst pipe caused minor damage to carpets in the other two tenancies. “It was clean water so once we get the carpets dried we will be back in business, hopefully as early as Wednesday,” Angus and Coote store manager Ann Reynolds said. Centre manager Renee Pukallus said the priority was making sure the tenancies were safe and every effort was being made to have them reopened as soon as possible.
