Hitting your 1RM for 2 reps is always a great feeling! Last - TopicsExpress

Hitting your 1RM for 2 reps is always a great feeling! Last week I was discussing with Aaron and few other clients that standardising exactly which weights and reps you use during a warm up can help you reach bigger numbers. Also jumping to certain weights and getting your body used to that can also be beneficial. So Aaron today adjusted his warm up and went from 140kg straight to 160kg then 170kg and 180kg. Usually he would add in 150kg. In fact I was discussing a Russian theory/methodology with someone, where they would get their body used to jumping straight into heavy sets. To give you an idea of this example it would like Aaron going from 80kg straight to 160kg! Essentially from 50% to 90% of 1RM in 1 jump. Reminds of a story I heard from Hugo Girard at the Eleiko Summit some years ago, where he trained with Glenn Ross and Glenn jumped from 70kg to 320kg+ for reps in a squat! Huge said this was the most impressive strength feat hes ever seen and hes seen plenty! I would recommend a more thorough warm up but both theories above have their place. Sometimes the attention to detail is what most people miss in the program... #winning
