Holiness is a reflection of a higher standard. Morality is more - TopicsExpress

Holiness is a reflection of a higher standard. Morality is more connected with the cultural flow, while holiness may require standing up for and living in the absolute truth, even when it goes against the standards of culture and society. In a peculiar way, holiness is also a form of selfishness. Holy selfishness is based on a deeper living and understanding of the Ten Speakings, in that we take care of ourselves by taking care of the other, with whom we are one. One who is living in kedusha (holiness) refrains from exploiting others— not because of any set of rules mandated by the Ten Speakings, but because of the inner understanding that we are all one as a reflection of the Divine.
