Hollywood’s Lunch Report The Dance! Yes, The Dance. You know what I’m talking about. We have all done The Dance. Some of us are still doing The Dance. The thing about Dancing is it makes you feel good and it is a very important part of our lives. When we are in middle school it’s “Our first dance” at school. Sadie Hawkins dance, Homecoming Dance, Prom Dance, when we get married it’s “Our first dance” together, we dance when we are cleaning, cooking, showering and I don’t care who you are ERRRBODY dances in the car! But today’s dance is that dumb “Date” dance we do. You know what I’m talking about. Male 1 likes Female 1 but Female 1 likes Male 2 who likes Female 2 who likes Male 3 who likes Female 3 who likes Male 4 who likes Female 4 who likes……blah blah blah, you member! I will tell you how dumb this date dance is. You need to find or better yet, what we all look for is that one person that we can share a dance with. And not just ANY dance……It’s THE dance. Because although it is only A dance, with the right Man/Woman that dance feels like the first dance every time! And it’s that nice slow dance where the woman lays her head on the man’s shoulder/chest (depending on their height) and the world just seems to go away and it’s just the two of you. Heartbeats can be felt, the music is there but not drowning and it feels like there are spotlights on the two of you. Yes, THAT dance. This is the dance we search for and desire. That dance isn’t the dumb one, the dumb one is the one where you keep asking them to dance and they keep saying no because they are trying to get the other one to ask them to dance. And yet you keep asking. LMBO, Ummmm, If you are trying to dance with him but he is trying to dance with her why don’t you ask someone ask to dance? Yes, valid question I know. Go ahead and try to answer it. And we have all done this dance. Most of the times your friends are on the outside looking in and try to talk you out of it, but you don’t listen. YOU WANT TO DANCE! They just don’t want to dance. Put yourself in the club though, go up and ask someone to dance and when they say No Thank you, you tend to be very nice and tell them to let you know if they change their mind and then you go ask someone else. And you keep doing this throughout the night until you find someone that will say yes and go out and cut a rug with you. As the way it should be. Although I have never been able to figure out, why in the hell do you go to a DANCE club and then don’t dance? Hell, I have jumped on an empty dance floor and dropped it like it was on fire many a night all by myself! And that is because I go out to a DANCE club to dance! I can sit at home and drink for more than ½ of what I would spend out! I’m just sayin…. And so we find a person to dance with us and sometimes yes Sometimes it ends up being THE dance, those are the lucky ones, the happy ones, the ones that get to relive their dance on a daily basis. But then there are the ones that you start to dance with, everything is great and then the DJ slaps on some music and you start to break it down, you look up to see if they are watching cause you are like BAM, POP, YEA, GET IT, WATCH ME, HOLD IT NOW, MMMMM, YEA, WHO’S IS IT? DAMN! I’M JAMMIN!! And they are dancing like Elaine on Sinefield! WTH?! Oh, it was on point with the other song but now you see They RREALLY can’t dance! Or they don’t like the way you dance aaaaaaaand yea…..Time to find a new dance partner. Some of y’all are on Dance partner number 3, 4 or 5! And that is ok because again we all Need to Dance! And those that you have danced with either just couldn’t dance or couldn’t dance to what you like to listen to, but someone out there does….but if you keep saying No cause you are looking at someone who is looking at someone else….how will you find out how the person who actually asked you to dance, Dances? Might as well get out there on that floor cause you just never know now do you? I leave you today like this: Did you find your dance partner already? Did you share THAT dance with them? When was the last time you two just took a moment and reminisced about THE Dance? Do that today, place your head on their chest or place their head on your chest. They might ask you, “What are you doing?” But after a couple of seconds the music will go to a whisper, the lights will dim down, the spot lights will come on and for about five minutes the world will be right for you and your dance partner. If you have not found them yet, are you looking? Are you taking the time to see? Are you wasting too much time saying No to those who are brave enough to ask? I do love to dance in my car, at the house, while I clean, while I cook and by myself when there is no one else on the floor, but it’s not as fun when the floor is crowded. Take that chance and dance. If you Love yourself 1st…….Others will Love you more. Enjoy your week and DANCE! Much Luv!
