Even when it doesnt seem light... Lets take a moment to look at the status of our movement. I want to acknowledge that many of us do not feel light this Christmas, we feel heavy wth the impact of several set backs; LA, Oregon labeling, the HR 4432 hearing, seed control laws in CA and pending laws in EU, Monsantos TV ads, and China buying GMO corn seed. It can feel devastating. We could allow what has happened in the past few weeks to depress us. This feeling could stop many people from taking action and it could crush our movement. We could even allow our sadness to affect our Holidays. You may feel like you are going through the motions, not as present to the joy of the season or even resentful of other family memebers who dont get it. This feeling could squash your fun and relatedness with family members over Christmas. I invite you not to allow that to happen to you. Do not allow the opposition to take your power and rob you of your self expression of your committment. Do not allow Monsanto and chemical companies to steal those precious moments of magic and joy with your family members! We cannot control what others do in the world, but we can control who we BE about it. The fact is each one of us has a choice to be unstoppable and be a creator of joy and love with our families. If you are struggling with this, I invite you to chose to set aside your frustration, grief, anger and fear about the chemical companies control and be present to the joy and love you have for your family. They are, after all, the major reason why you devote your time and energy to call, share posts, write letters, march in parades and pass out flyers to complete strangers. The love you have for your family, friends and communities is what drives you. Not profit. Not greed for control. In fact, if you and I had not taken actions based on LOVE, Monsanto and chemicals companies would not have had to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to try to stop GMO labeling, they would not have to be doing damage control with TV and magazine ads and lawsuits. They would not have to pay mommy bloggers and build websites to have a conversation with teens about GMOs. Hundreds of millons of dollars are now being spent on damage control instead of new GMO technologies. THEY are reacting to YOU, to US. Your commitment and love has created a new awareness in the world and Monsanto is scrambling. They may win now and then, but overall, I assert, our movement is unstoppable. There is no going back. They cannot force us to un learn what we know. They cannot stop us from sharing the benefits of organic food. We are only going to share and our movement is only going to grow. They cannot turn this tide around, they can only mitigate, react and do damage control. Think about Rosa Parks in the the front of the bus. They told her she could not do that, but she did, and once people knew, there was no stopping the movement. There is no way to stop a rising awareness and a greater good. We are empowering community leaders to be global game changers. You are that community leader. Your community looks up to you as a resource. There is a limit to the chemical corporations resources for image damage control. There is no limit to our resource of love for our children. There is no limit to ou for our planet, our air, water, soil, wildlife and freedom. There is no limit to our creativity and new deas we can conjure up as empowering solutions.
