Hotel Rochester decorated for Street Fair, Orange, California, 1910. Bunting hangs from each of the three stories, as well as the corner tower. Signage at the corner sidewalk reads HOTEL ROCHESTER and figures are visible sitting on hotel porch along the right side. After failure of tourist industry, the hotel building was sold in 1889 to Rev. J.H. Harwood and converted into the Orange County Collegiate Institute, the countys first college, which operated from 1889-1891. It operated as a hotel until it was raized in June, 1931, on the current site of the Orange Post Office which opened in 1935.
