“How America came to be and where we’re heading as a Nation” Most of us know that North America was a land that was in habited by the Indians. Settlers came from other countries such as Spain and England in search of a new life. They came for different reasons, such as the opportunity to start a new life, or because they heard there was gold and silver to be found. To some it was an adventure and others came for religious reasons, but all had one thing in common… to escape the control of their government. The religious groups, such as the Puritans and the Catholic came to escape religious persecution so they could worship God freely as they saw fit. Little by little more and more settlers came into the new world in search of freedom. But let’s back up just a little…….. You see America was first home to the Indians which also consisted of different tribes. There were warrior Indians who did not except this new invasion of settlers who eventually migrated to other areas and there were the friendly Indians who welcomed the settlers and helped them to survive and become established. Then there was a turn of events…….. How could the friendly Indians have known that this group of people that they welcomed and allowed into their land, grow into such a number that they would soon be over powered and chased off their land and eventually be driven onto reservations where they now live in poverty. If they had stood up from the beginning, before it was too late, maybe they would still be around today. The Indian tribes were divided among themselves and were eventually over taken. (a house divided can not stand) So these new English settlers had pretty much taken over but were still under the control of England. There were thirteen different colonies that migrated to America, however, unlike the Indians, these thirteen colonies came together and “united” therefore defeating the British and won our independence from England; you got it…July 4th, 1776. So the great nation we know as the United States of America was then founded as a nation under God and for God. Today the freedom of worshipping the God that this nation was founded on is being threatened and just like the Indians who did not stand up for their own rights, but allowed more and more settlers to come in until they were driven out, so are the Christians sitting back and allowing more and more religions to come into our Christian nation until one day just like the Indians, we will become the minority. No longer will we be allowed to worship our God freely but will be just like the other nations where Christians are persecuted for their worship. I recently saw a video where three Christian priests were brutally executed by Syrian rebels by heading them with a dull hunting knife in front of crowds of people while they chanted to their Muslim god. People we have the right to worship our God FREELY…without this kind of persecution, yet we take it for granted!! Don’t you think it’s about time that Christian Americans begin to stand up and make our voice heard? It’s time we stop with all this different denominations and stand up with “ONE VOICE” unto our God and begin to cry out to Him to SAVE THIS NATION!!!!!
