How could any man resist a girl with such a big set list? Eleanor Friedbergers two solo releases on Merge Records are really special. Im not the biggest fan of The Fiery Furnaces, although I do like them a lot when they calm down and finish a thought, but both of Eleanors solo albums feature really incisive songwriting, particular rather than fanciful, extremely well-played and beautifully recorded. The second album, Personal Record, was co-written with John Wesley Harding, the results of which are extremely compelling if you like a nice sharp twist of phrase (I do). This song in particular kind of kills me, a sharp litany of girls that the singers significant other has played around with around the world, while she continually reminds him/us/herself that there are other boys...too. Up to MRG450 now, only a handful left to go! #Merge25
