How many of you, complain about getting a ticket? How many of you have thought, dont you have real criminals to catch? You are missing the grand design here. Did you know that the mastermind of the Oklahoma City Bombing was captured during a traffic stop? Traffic stops are an integral part of police work. The are enforcing the laws that your elected officials have made. I can tell you that in my ten years of police work, I caught far more criminals on ordinary traffic stops than I did through active work in the field. Murderers, rapists, and the like all drive cars on our public roadways. How many of you ask, dont you have anything better to do? Sometimes, the answer is simply no. You pay the police to work. Absent active crimes, especially at night, there really isnt anything else to do. Your tax dollars are paying them to work, so they are working. Far more people are killed at the hands of a drunk driver than in murders. Let that sink in. Now picture yourself, or worse, your kids on the road with the 50%+ of drunk drivers out after midnight. Do you still think that they have nothing better to do? The next time you get a ticket, and are wanting to lash out about being the person selected by your local policeman (or woman), please think of what they are doing behind the scenes. You may be a normal traffic stop, but the next person the cop pulls over could be a rapist with a warrant. Dont forget that most cops in the US make less than minimum wage........
