How to get good documentation for good grebe records (here, the first W. Feliciana Par. record of Eared Grebe, today at Angola Prison): (1) find it -- the easy part, (2) play tape to it, at which point it first stares and then steams quickly across 400 yards of open water -- check the water displacement!, (3) and click. And get a better camera than mine. Eared, Western, Clarks, Pied-billed, and Red-necked are highly tape-responsive away from breeding grounds; Horned is next to try.
