How to put all these emotions and thoughts into words? There are no words. Just what I feel. From my first glimpse of Sarajevo through the airplane window, to my first conversations with students through the interview process, to teaching storytelling and other classes, to the feeling of community growing almost tangible through all the hard work and dedication of my fellow interns, BILD staff members, and especially DSI and TSI participants...it is no cliche that I have changed and grown these last 9 weeks. In what ways, I cannot certainly know until I have had more time to reflect. Now, I feel as if I have done something with my life that I have only ever idealized before. Never perfect, but fulfilling. And it is thanks to all the people around me that made this summer possible. To those that supported each other, worked harder than ever before, and felt passionate about the bigger picture. These weeks have been challenging but so, so rewarding.
