A very great deal that is of incredible significance! You have been deceived! Since grade school you have been the subject of child abuse! Public schools have used you as lab mice in alternative education methods. You have been taught by our society that things of God are irrelevant. Rather than being drawn towards the whole reason you are here on earth, our society has conditioned you to set aside real contemplation about your purpose in life. Human nature is such that the previous paragraph will generate negative reactions -- -- . Was I right? Did you react defensively, or scoff? When I was a kid (I’m 84 now), “Don’t discuss religion or politics.” was a common saying among my parents’ generation. That seems strange to me. What two subjects are more significant to a society’s lifestyle? So, you see, the problem is not a new one. It has been progressing for a long time. Perhaps most of your parents have done “the best they can with what they have.” There are no “perfect” parents. Parents deserve credit for the effort – but – when I ask a young couple to share with me about their relationship with God and get stumbling hollow responses – there is a problem. Granted – society has focused on denigrating “relationship with God” and your elders have not usually done a credible jog of countering that influence. So now – If you are still with me – Let’s see if this old man can make sense of it all for you. To begin with – There is a sentient being we call God. Montesquieu, a smart Frenchman (1689-1755) said, “They who assert that blind fatality [chance] produced the various effects we behold in this world [things we observe]talk very absurdly; for can anything be more unreasonable than to pretend that blind fatality could be productive of [could produce] intelligent beings?” Every product requires a producer. By studying a product, I can discover attributes of the producer. For example – Contemplate a Gibson guitar. Under close examination, one can discover many things about Mr. Gibson. If you will – Please contemplate four categories of products: · The sky with all its components (macro category). · A leaf supporting a centipede (micro category). · Yourself with all its physical parts (human category). · Yourself extra-physically – mind, will, emotions, intellect (conscience category) I submit that a serious study of any one of those areas will demand that one accept the truth of an all-powerful, all-present, intelligent being. Further – Reason tells us this first cause is a caring (there is a wholesome means of fulfillment for every need) individual with a will and emotions (the product –you- can poses nothing not first available in the producer). This all important personality has spent the past 4000 to 6000 years (depending upon when you want to start the clock) doing His best to teach humans how to get along with Him and each other. Humans are notoriously slow learners! So my 20’s friends – I recommend you invest some serious thought upon your personal, individual relationship with the One who loves you more than you can comprehend. PLEASE do not put your relationship and trust in man-made doctrine. Truth exists and is struggling to get to the surface. Search for it! I guarantee – An honest search will find it.
