Humility is derived from the Latin word HUMUS or earth. The humble person has their feet on ground, they are levelheaded and truthful. They are not the center of their universe. Is our personal evolvement expanded by Humility? If you see a turtle on top of a fencepost, you know he had some help. Gender makes it difficult for a man to be humble or enjoy humility as an expression of beauty. There is a lot of pressure on men to be bigger-than-life because few men feel that THEY are enough. Gender gives women the opposite dictations. They are called to humility. They are expected to give much without recognition. They are shun if they ask for what they want or need. Women are encouraged to disappear in life. How confusing gender makes this beautiful virtue! It would be easier for men and women to enjoy life with their feet on the ground if they were gender-free. The great sage advised: Conduct your affairs with humility...humble yourself the more, the greater you are.
