I JUST HAVE 5 LOAVES AND 2 FISH - There is a little boy here, who has [with him] five barley loaves, and two small fish; but what are they among so many people? - John 6:9 What a contradiction in the introduction to one of the greatest miracles of the ministry of Jesus!! The boys mother certainly had not packed lunch, a small boy wouldnt eat 5loaves n 2fish,this must have been family business which we can as well refer to as hawking!!!! This boy is first described as a little boy, with no name, his merchandise equally small and the disciples appoint themselves judge and jury sealing the fate of this boy as inconsequential compared to their expectations.... vast multitudes!!! Today most of us if not all can relate with this boy. In the face of our situations and our world first of all we have no name. Meaning we dont know our identity and subsequently we have no understanding of the power within what we carry!!! Were so concerned with the size in comparison to the vast multitudes!!! The little boy could easily shrug away after all even the disciples had dismissed him n his wares. He could have wallowed in a pity party feeling inadequate with nothing reasonable enough to offer. However with one small act he changed his story n thats why we read about him today. This one small act was what we aptly call SURRENDER!! He gave it all to Jesus!!! Withholding nothing!!! He figured even If I keep it it aint much but if I introduce Jesus into this equation the matrix changes!!! He understood its when who I am however little, what I have however small, as long as it touches divinity all things are possible!!! So mathematically speaking the disciples sat the multitudes of 10k people into groups of 50meaning 200groups,divide by 12disciples Clearly each disciple had to make 16trips to feed the groups!!! The little boy, the small fish n loaves opened up a feeding ministry!! He didnt despise himself neither what he had, he stepped forward fully aware of the facts and heard clearly the dismissal of the disciples but he gave it all to Jesus!!! Everybody was fed to capacity by one small move!!! What is this you have inside you that personally and collectively you have despised? Develop the right attitude. In the hands of Jesus and his spoken blessing of the word Youre a dynamite!!! A world changer!!!!! Never forget to give God glory. Always point back to the power behind what you gave!!!
