I LOVE Game of Thrones! I didn’t mean to yell at that girl, - TopicsExpress

I LOVE Game of Thrones! I didn’t mean to yell at that girl, over the situation. From before, in writing class. Looking back, what I should have said was……a story doesnt ONLY have to be about baby switching or a young girl’s “first time” to be good. Also, it’s ok to like “boy stuff.” You’re not, all of a sudden going to stop being a girl, just because you like something that has a male flair to it, or was written by a man, (or whatever her problem or THE problem was.) I mean, I like Jane Eyre just as much (if not more), than….well not more than Lord of the Rings. NOTHING goes above Lord of the Rings. Still, you get my point. (It’s situations like that — I’m glad I’m not 20 anymore. Way too many hang-ups, over something so small. Or maybe its just her?) :P Yes, I probably should NOT had reacted like that. I was just so utterly shocked by her response to everything that’s awesome and her total attachment to the everyday boring — seen before on a soap opera, type stories. Thats really what it was about. Because it’s not like “I” didn’t watch a good solid 5 years of Days of our Lives, back when they had that whole “love triangle Marlena, John and Stefano” story line. And so did my roommate, who taped it everyday so we could see it after work. And let’s be honest here, that same storyline of a obsessive/compulsive relations the foundation of the Twilight Series, Right? And I’ve watched that, more times than I should admit. But regardless of that I KNOW that both Twilight and Days of our Lives are no way as good as Game of Thrones. Not even close. So, I don’t get? A classic tale beats a tiresome coming of age story any day. But to each his own, I guess.
