I am NOT eliciting sympathy, but I may be coming down with a small case of bipolar. I skip lunch twice a week to cut grass and clean bathrooms. My wife and I have different lunch hours so we very seldom meet for lunch. Today was different. My wife had the afternoon off. I went by her company to get a flu shot. I was so excited. We might go to lunch together. She had other plans to meet her mom and take care of errands, MD visits, etc. I was disappointed. However, neither mood lasted very long so I may just have a touch of it. Since I was across town, I debated where to eat. Uptown had Boots and Sonnys. I passed by it. Maybe Jasons. I kept riding. I had nearly decided to eat at my usual place, when I stopped at Ryans. Its been a couple of years since I last ate there. I felt at home with my peoples. Now, I admit that Ryans does not have the entertainment value of Golden Corral but it does have old people. We were all over the place. As one guy walked toward me I knew instantly he was an athlete. I didnt even need to see his Run-D.M.C. T-shirt to see he was a runner. I even had a girl join me. She pretended to be taking a survey, so I humored her. When she asked how often I eat there, I was too embarrassed to tell her every two years whether I am hungry or not. As I prepared to return to work, some guy said he could not believe that a man my age was riding a motorcycle. Believe it or not, I smiled. All the way back to work...
