I am against organized religion in any form because the majority of what Ive observed is that it breeds closed-minded bigots. Al Qaeda, the Tea Party, Arizona, etc. I dont need a book to tell me how to treat other people. I think Ive got that part taken care of. However, I will borrow a line from the Bible, The Golden Rule, which is to treat others as you would like to be treated. Hippie Jesus is the best Jesus, if you ask me, and if you dont believe so, I challenge your Christianity. From what I know, if you follow the teachings of any of the Holy Books (or collect the whole set), you will obtain a general knowledge of what is just in this world. And killing/persecuting others who dont believe what you do is not just. Loving each other for our differences is just. So I challenge you to seek in yourself what is truly just and good in this world and to pursue that end. For a standardized book with outdated messages is no guideline for life as we know it today. We must progress, my brothers and sisters, and stop the ridiculing torment of those that are different than us. Gone are the days of castes and slavery, so, too, should the days of persecution of those different than us.
