I am amazed and humbled by the doors God has been opening in my life. A prayer from a while back: Lord, rip me out of my comfort zones, and make me an obedient servant for Your purpose and glory to reach those who are hurting and broken. Well, He has been and is still being faithful in answering that prayer on an ongoing basis. Being outside our comfort zones is not an easy place to be. Our flesh wants to remind us of our short-comings and past failures. Those thoughts are enough to send me running as quickly as I can in the opposite direction! But one thing I am learning, is that if God calls you to do something, you do it. You do not run. Despite the flood of emotions and fears that try to overtake you, you face it head on. This lesson has been a very difficult one, but I am learning that His perfect will is the safest place to be. Because if He wills it, He will empower and enable you to do great and mighty things for His name sake. Its all about our focus. If we focus on ourselves, and our abilities, or lack there of, we remove ourselves from the very Source (God) that is able. With our eyes fixed on ourselves, we become discouraged, worn out, and ultimately will fall. But, if we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, the One, the Source who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, we will then be able to draw all that we need to accomplish whatever task is set before us. Apart from Him, I can do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am so thankful that He is making His truths real in my life. He will do the very same for anyone who asks, but you have to be willing, and say with a pure heart, Not my will Lord, but Your will be done.
