I am enveloped in a culture of hyper dependency and vanity. By creating hyper dependency the person learns they are weak but special because everyone protects them. This cultivated weakness and the vanity that goes along with it makes women not uncomfortable in their role as trade objects. It is quite acceptable as long the they feel the men they are traded to have sufficient means to maintain them in their dependent state at the level above to which they are accustomed or above. That is not benign slavery, this a successful marriage.
