I am in a playground for the very very rich. Everything here is organized to make them feel both that they are exceptional and that all of this is with in reach of everyone. People walk around here like preening cats with canaries in mouth. They have beat work. They feel good about it. They will now spend their free time thinking about YOUR problems. Robert Reich speaks in a few days. And Larry Sumner and Timothy Geitner. Hillary here too. And Madeleine Albright. I was lucky to score a free ride to the Aspen Ideas Festival but I wish they would follow with an Aspen Implementation Festival. Whole lot of ego here believing (really and truly) that they have the answer to the worlds problems. Which should be inspiring… but, as with all forms of concentrated power, is truly frightening. Not frightening because they are evil; frightening because they think they have all the answers. (Arrianna Huffington believes in the power of naps. David Brooks believes in Grace and humility and duty) Greetings from self-congratulation central. No one here is going to solve any problems any time soon. (PS I will never watch a TED talk the same way ever again.)
