I am not sure I am doing this but here it goes: I have been nominated by Amiya Halder and Shreya Saha to list 10 of my favorite books out there. As an avid reader, this is something absolutely difficult, since I perceive each book as a world of its own and struggle to compare amongst them in terms of how I feel after reading them. But there definitely are some amazing books which have influenced me to see a different version of society and have inspired to think beyond the box, to empathize with different perspectives and relate their worlds with mine. Here are the 10 I will definitely remember for the rest of my life even though I have read each of them only once: 1) The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy 2) The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid 3) The Golden Age by Tahmima Anam 4) Bangladesh- a legacy of Blood by Anthony Mascarenhas 5) In Custody by Anita Desai 6) Ancestor Stones by Aminatta Forna 7) Aleph by Paulo Coelho 8) The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho 9) I Sweep the Sun Off Rooftops by Hanan Al-Shaykh 10) A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini I nominate Sunny Islam, Asif Khan, Ahamed Naveed Hasan and Eshpelin Mishtak to name their 10 of the most memorable books!
