I am not sure if the question is asked for trouble or truth. But - TopicsExpress

I am not sure if the question is asked for trouble or truth. But here I go. The scripture most used to disqualify the hair doctrine is I Cor. 11:16, But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. Somehow it has entered into the church a corrupt idea that verse 16 gives folks a license to disregard and even attack the hair doctrine. First, LONG hair on a lady is not a custom. The context has established that long hair on a lady is glory which is praise, NOT a custom. Long hair on a man is SHAME, not a custom. Therefore, what is the custom mentioned in verse 16? CONTENTION. Folks who obey the hair doctrine are not causing the contention. Those who oppose the hair doctrine are causing the contention. If all believers would obey the hair doctrine there would be no contention at all. Jesus Christ, through Paul is saying, DO NOT MAKE CONTENTION A CUSTOM. Who again creates the custom? The folks who do not obey the hair doctrine. And notice, Ps 13:10, Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Contention does not come through obedience. Pride comes by rebellion against the hair doctrine. Now, there are some ladies with long hair who fight over the doctrine, but there would be NO fight if everyone would walk in truth relative to the hair doctrine and I am not justifying a bad spirit. If you lady have pride in your long hair, that likewise can cause contention. But the pride is the contention not the long hair. Dont condemn the hair doctrine because some walk in pride because they adhere to the doctrine. Protect the doctrine and challenge believers who misrepresent the truth. AGAIN PROTECT THE DOCTRINE. Dont throw the hair doctrine out with the dishwater. So, verse 16 is NOT even remotely suggesting that hair is a custom and it is NOT suggesting that contention gives folks an out to disobey the hair doctrine. The hair doctrine is NOT optional. And it is no less inspired than John 3:16. Notice, 2 tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: The next question. HOW LONG IS LONG. The word LONG from the context is LET GROW. You cant cut your hair and let it grow at the same time. And by the way, the exceptions to the rule are what happens in the unusual, like cancer or hair that simply will not grow. The exceptions should NOT be man made but exceptional circumstances. Someone said that hair cant save you. But, notice, Eph 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. We are not saved by the hair doctrine, but we are ordained to walk in good works. The hair doctrine is work and we are saved UNTO good works. You men dont have to mow your yard. That is a work. Yet, if you dont cut your grass you still own the house. But not cutting your grass speaks for its self. You ladies dont have to cook either. That is a work. But you are still married if you dont cook. But, that speaks for its self also. Come on, give me a break with the excuses. By the way, I do not permit any opposition to this truth. NONE. If you have a question that you feel is in contention to the truth, send it by a private message. I dont permit contention here. Challenging the hair doctrine creates contention. And I will not permit contention to be a custom on my page. And if you call me a pharisee, then that reveals you are insulting and ignorant of the truth. The Pharisees were not Christians, and they opposed Paul just like folks do today. Legalism? Give me a break. Obedience is not legalism. And likewise, I have made it clear that long hair on a lady is a WORK and GLORY which is praise Ok, Im tired.
