I am not sure if this was ever a debate in our Caribbean - TopicsExpress

I am not sure if this was ever a debate in our Caribbean societies, but at some point we must understand that this pandemic of color issue and race issue will phase out especially if we continue focusing on education and networking people together- Segregation and victimization and other abuses are now based on other factors than color skin - What i hate to know is that people get confused about who are black people and where they stand- Black people are not solely African American, and African American are not solely the guidance, the role model, the success that other people descendant of African should follow- African American have a specific history behind them in America and their relationship with the Caucasian American is really unique and cant portray what Africans or descendant of African are living today - it is sad to know that our youth in the Caribbean is perpetually following and identifying themselves with African American, and especially to what is always negative and not empowering them - Our youth should know more about Africa, past and present, they should know about their vibrant economy and their independent minds. their educated minds,. their continuous advance and progress into a better world, their understanding in networking people and benefiting to each other . they have a complete different way of living, of respecting each other, or dressing, of entertaining, their interest is more and more focus into education and social betterment, from generation to generation. I do admire many of these countries and people, especially knowing what some have gone thru, they are truly fighters and are always on the move and it benefit the world- Why cant we take example of them, of their culture of success? why cant we stop looking and following what could be is the worst role model? Cant we simply focus at what can change our mindset and have us moving forward? - So far, in many people head that i know, the whole fuss is about Africa, slavery, white man, abuse (America0 but none of those i know could line up 5 African countries out of 50 - I think a lot need to be corrected - Any community of any race look up to those succeeding and take example, not the other way - If black culture is so important to you (please cherish it cause only few of us on earth can still pin point a culture), please know your culture, your history and participate to a movement going up not going down - I am sorry for these white and black American, they have lost track one after the other, in their tragic role of abusee and abusers, majority and minority and will have difficulty to come to a normal state for a long time - The descendant of African slaves have become different kind of people with now different goals, because they are living in different part of the world (south America, Caribbean, some in Europe), The one from America are one kind, so follow who you want to be because their history (present)t is not related to you, you must move forward and be successful, that would be the only way to fix others misfortune-
