I am reposting this because we are fighting the fight of our lives as First Responders and families battling the horrors of PTSD. We watched as PTSD invaded our homes and we wondered what was happening. We watched as our loved one became an unrecognizable person and we questioned our sanity. We watched as paranoia, depression and hyper vigilance consumed their being and we prayed for strength. We watched as they screamed in the darkness and we cried when no one was around. We watched as the nights became their enemy and nightmares their reality and we pretended to sleep during our night watch. We watched as loneliness, hopelessness and the will to move on replaced our dreams for the future and we cursed those who have turned their backs. We are the families of a loved one who suffers from PTSD and we will not sit back and watch anymore. We will stand together to rebuild our lives and allow HOPE and FAITH into our homes!
