I am seriously peeved right now. Made the trip to Iowa City today with Ryan, Andi, and Emma. Weve been waiting quietly in the lobby since 9:30 a.m. (not being loud or causing any ruckus) and when we finally get called back to the chemo lounge a very officious nurse (never seen her before) takes it upon herself to tell me that I am only ALLOWED two visitors and no one under sixteen can be admitted. When I assured her that they were all over 16 she actually asked for their drivers licenses! Thats when she got a piece of my mind ... and no licenses! I might have scared the kids a little. I won and they all came back with me. Then I heard her harassing some guy down the way because he brought his kid along (about 8 years old) and tried to kick him out. Apparently it is preferable (in her eyes) for that child to sit ALONE in the lobby for two hours while his dad gets his treatment than to bend a rule. I understand that we have to be very careful about germs up here but for crying out loud ... we have CANCER! We do NOT need to be hassled!
