I am sitting here after a session - feeling truly amazed. What takes my breath away is the depth, rawness and courage couples have to stand in the worst of themselves, and face it with compassion. So many times in the session my heart burst open! To be present to masks being taken off, and things being expressed with such ownership and clarity is remarkable to witness. To watch it being receive with compassion and authenticity made the space around me tingle. Being in a real relationship isnt just about sparkles, and sweetness! Its also the ability to descend into the ugly, blank, bored, painful, annoyed - and to care for each other there. That take enormous skill, patience, and practice. I feel so proud. How are you at sharing the worst of yourself? Do you censor it to look nice? Do you share it harshly to wound another? Are you able to express it calmly with openness and desire to be met? How are you at receiving the worst in someone? Do you slime in superficiality? Dismiss it? Defend yourself? Number yourself? Disassociate? Accept the other? Hold them with care? What aspect of being in a real, authentic, relationship calls for your attention and practice?
