I am so disillusioned with the Musicians Institute..... Dont - TopicsExpress

I am so disillusioned with the Musicians Institute..... Dont get me wrong, I adore my teachers and the people I was privileged to work with, but the vocal program and school inner workings are just a big disappointing mess. No matter what you are promised in the brochure, as soon as you are not paying anymore money, you are dead them. Its been almost a year now, and just trying to get a response from staff is almost impossible. They still havent given me the award I won last September. The reels for auditions we were told we would take home as part of our program benefits were 1. Recorded incorrectly and 2. Never made up, so we get nothing. The other one is a poor audio quality that, while admitting to not recording it as well as theyd like to, I was told to just deal with because my complaints are purely subjective, but if I would like to PAY MORE MONEY, they will record me again. Worst of all, I was offered a full time job that I interviewed over an hour for, and turned down REAL opportunities to take- just to be ignored for weeks before being told the school isnt hiring anymore. Then to find out they are still looking to fill that position behind my back, but because I graduated ONE MONTH after their deadline, I am no longer eligible? Even after writing HR a letter explaining that the month shouldnt matter because I am not an 18 year old graduate, and then being approved for hire the first time! I really wanted and needed that job. Lastly, I purchased the yearly alumni pass to be allowed on campus on weekends, but all the good that has done me, is caused me to be banned and denied access for all other times and reasons- doesnt matter that Ive still been working there occasionally, or that I am singing for other PAYING students, or that Id like to watch my boyfriend play at a clinic... Im literally not allowed on the premises. I paid so much money to attend this school, and Ill be paying my loans for the next 30 years... This isnt a school - its a business - and thats going to be its downfall. Enrollment is at an all time low for good reason. Sadly, its becoming easier to see why so many people hate the place... I LOVED it so very much, and its turning sour... Shame on you, MI, for breaking my heart over and over again.
