I am the owner and primary DJ for Sirius Diversions. Sometimes, - TopicsExpress

I am the owner and primary DJ for Sirius Diversions. Sometimes, prospective clients ask if Im dependable and will show up for their event. People hear horror stories about DJs not showing up or canceling on them at the last minute. I have been a DJ for nine years, and in business for myself since January 2011. Ive personally performed nearly 200 weddings, and averaged 100+ events annually since 2012. I have DJd when I have had headaches, sinus infections, strep throat/no voice, low back pain, even a bulging disc. Last night, I DJd six hours after knee surgery. It was a fairly minor scope surgery, and the doctor had said I would be mobile, although probably pretty uncomfortable, immediately after. I booked a corporate NYE party a couple of months ago. Then, because I had hit my deductible, I decided to get my knee fixed on the insurance companys dime. Because of the insurance company, I had to have the surgery at the local hospital, rather than at the doctors office, and the hospital only had two dates available... 12/17 or 12/31. I decided against 12/17 because I was booked for a corporate party 12/18, a Toys for Tots fundraiser 12/19, a wedding 12/20, and another Toys for Tots event 12/21. I decided to have the surgery 12/31, because I only had the NYE party, and a wedding on 1/3. Im very thankful for Assistant DJ Essie, who set up and tore down the equipment, and for Roadie Papa, my dad, visiting from Nashville. He drove us to and from. I had the easy job of spinning the tunes. :) My only hard job was walking (hopping) around. I used a busboy cart at the venue as rolling crutches. I was pretty uncomfortable, but God is good... I LOVE being a DJ, my client and their clients were happy, my family was available to help, and the venue staff were great. I LOVE being a DJ. I get to help fun-loving people create special memories with great music. However, I dont really care to DJ right after surgery again, minor or not. :) lol
