I am throughly exhausted again tonight-- again, we were saturated with an overabundance amount of new knowledge. I just pray I can retain the things they are giving us. I have discovered a new found respect for the law, the human brain, the human conditioning & the ability the mind/body has to heal itself. I can tell you what triggers are & even some ways to deescalate a situation where someone is acting out because of a trigger. I also learned how important it is to be sure that people are counseled by a licensed professional....someone who has been EDUCATED as a therapist & in some cases needs to be licensed to deal with people suffering from PTSD. People that dont know what they are doing & are not educated/licensed councilors can cause more damage & in some cases that damage can make things 1000xs worse. This day has had so much to absorb, so Im off to bed in hopes that this information will continue to seep into my brain & permanent memories as I sleep.
