I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. How long did Jesus stay once He descended into hell? Why would He have gone there at all? Lord, let me know better of Your direction and use it to guide me in mine. Surely, the souls in hell saw first hand exactly what they were missing, and would miss for eternity, when You entered their midst. Hell, the ultimate separation from God, was at that moment made even more painful having seen You among them following Your atoning death. May I, in Your true and perfect providence, find myself always in Your presence and ever seeking to do Your will. Yesterday You died for me. Tomorrow You shall rise. May I spent this day between focusing on how I can better serve You, more deeply love You and minister in Your name to those whose paths I cross. Amen
