I called my Wal-Mart Cashier Friend and asked her where she wanted - TopicsExpress

I called my Wal-Mart Cashier Friend and asked her where she wanted to meet for lunch? She told me her favorite place and I agreed to meet her there. After we sat down, two ladies came by and introduced themselves. The older one said, “I hope you don’t mind having a new Trainee help you this afternoon? Would it be all right with you?” “We are all new at things in life, and as long as she takes care of us, I have no problem.” I said. The new Trainee looked at me and said, “Thank you. It’s my first day on the job!” “Don’t worry,” I said. “We’ve all had one of those here and there. Just take care of all your tables and you’ll be fine?” She smiled, took our order and off they went to deliver it to the kitchen. With her trainer close behind her, checking her posture, her walk, and who know what else, all the while writing down notes. When the Trainee came back, with her Trainer right behind her, I could tell she was really nervous? Although she smiled, it was more of a forced smile. She was young and wasn’t good at conversing with people, but poor thing at least she was trying. “Will there be anything else, Sir?” she asked. “Not that I can see.” I told her. “But be sure to check on us after a while!” She was going to say something when she was interrupted by her Trainer. “You’ve got other tables to take care of.” She said. “We’ll be back.” What a liar she turned out to be? Though the place was pretty packed, and they went to tables all over the restaurant, they never came back to see how we were doing or if we needed a refill? Which we did! Here I was, on a first lunch date and our New Waitress was not there, making sure it was a pleasant one? I asked a Waitress nearby to get us a couple of straws, and even though she was not our Waitress she did so, with a smile! Later she noticed we were not getting our drinks refilled and offered to do so, and did with an apologetic smile! She checked on us frequently, and made it always with a genuine smile! She asked if we wanted any dessert. We did, and she brought it. When it was time to go, I asked for the bill, she said she would find out and go get it, but before she did, out popped the New Waitress and her Trainer with the bill total. The New Waitress handed me the tray with it and offered to take it to the cash register for me? I took it from her, reached in my wallet and took out a ten dollar bill, then walked over to the Lady that had been our Waitress and gave it to her! The Trainer looked at me and said, “Excuse me, sir. She is not your Waitress?” She then pointed to the New Waitress and said, “She is?” “A good Waitress takes care of her tables,” I said. “And she never did?” “But, Sir…” she said. “You can’t do that?” “I am the customer,” I said. “And she,” I said, as I pointed to the Waitress that had helped us all hour, “Is and has been my Waitress this past hour! So if you don’t mind, I will pay her, for her kind service, and so accordingly!” And I did just that. She took the money, thanked me and went on to take care of her assigned tables. “That is not allowed.” The Trainer added with a shaking voice. “Would you like to call the Manager On Duty?” I asked. “No. Sir.” “You’re in training, correct?” I asked the New Waitress. “Yes, Sir.” She said, with a timid voice. “Then let this be a training lesson from me to you,” I said. “Always take care of your tables!”
