I came across a page today that honored the women of the paranormal and credited them for their contributions to the field. I thought this was an amazing idea since there are more women running teams and contributing to the field than most people would think. I was however a bit concerned that in order for a woman to be credited for a she must show proof of her contributions, such as research papers, inventions etc. This is itself was not what concerned me, I was happy to see the right people be recognized but it occurred to me that what was going to be considered as proof did not include anything that would honor the work, and often times danger that spiritual teams do. So I thought I would share the email I sent to remind this group that there are many aspects of the paranormal field and many people dedicating themselves to it that have made the personal choice to focus strictly on those in need of help with their paranormal experiences and finding peace and therefore have chosen to make collecting evidence a secondary to what we feel is most important......Please let me know your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not..... What about us women who have continually put our safety on the line as spiritual healers, to rid families who start out as mere strangers, of entities and negativity that have been plaguing them for years. I think as the spiritualist we are often overlooked because we do not see a need to collect evidence as a validation of our abilities but instead are often contacted by numerous other teams when there is a dangerous situation that they can not help the family with. We have walked into homes to preform spiritual cleansings and due to the belief that the right people will find us when they need us, these homes have often times reached such extreme levels that we find ourselves being physically harmed and para-bullied by some really intense entities. I just feel that this side of the field is often overlooked as having any impact on the field yet in the beginning there were no technical para-teams only spiritualists. Often times the spiritualists get snubbed as being the tag alongs in the field, yet in more cases than any team would like to admit, we are the first people they call to help when I family needs to find peace in their own homes. I think that it is great to recognize individuals who have offered so much to the field in search of answers but please dont disregard our lack of contributing to evidence collecting or personal decision to not share all of our case studies because of the delicate nature of what it is that we do as a sign that our role in the paranormal field is menial. Sometimes we are the last hope for families to find peace and knowing that there are many, many families who have become our friends and even after years since we first met them as strangers who were often ready to give up, I feel that as a woman in the paranormal my role may not be one of sifting through 100s of pictures for possible evidence or sitting and listen to hours of EVP recordings but I do know (and it is well documented through testimonials and simple notes of gratitude) that not everyone could handle some of the things we have endured and the paranormal field would not be complete if we did not do the work we do. Light and Love to all of you!
