I cant believe I just witnessed another act from a stranger that has made me lose faith in humanity, they seem to be far too common these days. I was driving home from dropping friends off at Subiaco for a night out (I wasnt feeling up to it) when approaching an intersection I noticed a car stationary in the middle of the road. When I got closer I noticed that there was a lot of damage to it, and that there was another car with the front completely smashed a few metres away. It was obvious that there had been a serious head on collision, and there were bystanders out of their car and walking around. Even though it was reassuring to see people helping and that I wasnt the first on the scene I felt like I needed to make sure that there was an ambulance on the way because it was clearly very serious. So I pulled to the side of the road and asked someone if everyone was okay and that the emergency services were on their way, he said they were and proceeded to cross the road in front of me to get to his car. As he did so another car pulled up behind me, almost on my bumper and hooted at me. WHILE THE GUY WAS CROSSING A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING. Had he not seen that there was a serious accident and someones life was probably in danger and that I was clearly (head out the window) making sure that help was on the way, let alone letting the pedestrian cross? Or was he a complete twat and did not care one bit about the people in the crash (one person appeared to be unconcious still in the car), and was desperate to not be 20 seconds late to wherever he was going? I know Im not qualified to help people as much as paramedics and ES trained people do, but surely sparing 20 seconds to make sure that people who are, are on their way is everyones job?
